Annual Design Competition
The Nova Scotia Home Designers Association will be holding its fourteenth annual design competition among its members, to showcase the best-designed homes and small buildings in the province. The winning projects will be featured at our AGM in June, 2025.

Congratulations to the 2023 award recipients:
In 1996 the Province of Nova Scotia discontinued the Nova Scotia Home Award Program. This program recognized excellence in housing design, construction, renovation, restoration and energy conservation through the Nova Scotia Home Awards.
The Nova Scotia Home & Building Designers’ Association are very proud to be an active part of the Nova Scotia housing industry and as custom home and small building designers we fell there is a strong need to recognize excellence in our industry.
Each year, the NSHBDA invites all home designers and architectural students to enter our Design Competition. Enter a design you are proud of, or offers a different take on home design in Nova Scotia. Entries may include new homes, renovations/additions, designs not yet under construction as well as a wide variety of non-residential projects.
Submissions will be accepted in electronic format (PDF or JPEG) and must be received by the end of business day, Wednesday May 22, 2024. Entries will be reviewed by three judges, each independent of the NSHBDA. Awards for the five categories listed above will be presented at our AGM on Tuesday, June 11, 2024
