Tech Tour of new Farmers Market
In conjunction with Solar Nova Scotia, we have a special evening planned for our Association’s first training secession of the 2010-2011 year. Instead of meeting at NSCC Waterfront Campus or the NSCC Lunenburg Campus, we will be meeting at 7:00 pm for a tour of the new home of the Halifax Farmers Market at the Halifax Seaport (down by Pier 21 on Terminal Road).
This new environmentally friendly complex showcases solar and geothermal heating, advanced natural ventilation, wind energy, daylight responsive lighting, a vegetative roof and rainwater collection among many other features. This building is registered in the Leadership of Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program from the Canada Green Building Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to see in person some of the new technologies and how they can be used in combination as to create a sustainable building.

As usual, our education committee meeting @ 2 pm and our executive meeting @ 3 pm will be held at NSCC Waterfront Campus, room location to be finalized. Just a reminder to all chairpersons of all committees and sub committees that you need to prepare a list of your committee members, and submit it to the board. You must have at least two additional members to serve on your committee with you.
