2011 Design Competition – Rules & Regulations
The Home & Building Designers Association is holding its fifth annual design competition among its members, to find the best designed homes and small buildings in the province. The winning homes and building will be featured in the Fall Ideal Home Show, “NSHBDA Design Competition Gallery” and other media related outlets. Each submission will allow the designer, student designer or corporate member the opportunity to become a “Featured Member” in our booth, at the Spring and Fall Ideal Home Shows.
Categories will include “New Home Under 2,000 Square Feet”, “New Home 2,000 Square Feet and Over”, “Reno/Addition”, “Green Building”, and “Other”. There is also a “Student Design Project”, “Other, Student Design Project”, “Designs Not-Yet Built” and “Small Building Designs”.
To enter you must be a member of NSHBDA and new members are definitely welcome. See our Membership section for more information about membership and how to join.
Entrants must download and complete the “2011 NSHBDA Design Competition – Entry/Release Form”.
There is a fee for each submission (waived for students) as outlined in the “2011 NSHBDA Design Competition – Rules & Regulations”.
The deadline for all entries will be Monday, June 6, 2011. An independent panel of judges will review the designs and select the winners.
The Nova Scotia Home & Building Designers’ Association (NSHBDA) was established in 1995 as the Nova Scotia Home Designers Association to foster the growth and education for home and small building designers in the construction industry. Members of the NSHBDA have been recognized provincially and nationally, having received several Nova Scotia Home Awards, CMHC’s Flex Housing Design Competition, Natural Resources’ Passive Solar Design Awards and previous NSHBDA design competition awards.
With our training and continuing education, members of NSHBDA have assisted many Nova Scotia home owners with the design of their custom designed dream home, their reno/addition design or their small building design project and should be considered by others, as your future design professional.
